Manipur Wushu Team has grabbed the Overall Team Champion Trophy in the 20th Junior National Wushu (Boys -Girls) Championships held in Jalandhar, Punjab with 25 gold, 19 silver, 15 bronze in Taolu category and 4 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze in Sanda category.
The national championship held from October 20 to 25 was organised by the Wushu Association of Punjab under the aegis of Wushu Association of India, stated a release issued by Wushu Association of Manipur (WAM).
Under Taolu group A, Chingangbam Dinesh Singh won three silver; Kangjam Monish Singh won two silver; Yumlembam Echantombi Devi won three gold; Ningthoujam Christina Devi won one silver and one gold; Oinam Malemnganbi Devi won two gold; Yengkhom Geeta Devi won one bronze, WAM stated.
It stated that under Taolu group B, Ngangom Kajal won three gold; Langam Taniya Devi one bronze and two silver; Jona Princie Konsam won one silver and one gold; Olicia Naorem won two bronze; Hanjabam Langlentombi Devi three gold; Achom Tapas won one silver and two bronze; Leimapokpam Nelson Meitei one bronze and two gold; Thounganba Aheibam won two gold and one silver; Gurumayum Devesh Sharma three silver; Wahengbam Bhumeswor Meitei won two gold; Okram Iyathoi Meitei (WAI Wild Card Entry) won three gold; Nganba Aheibam (WAI Wild Card Entry) won one silver and one bronze.
Under Kung-Fu Events, Taruba Khuraijam won one bronze; Maisnam Diamond Singh won one gold and two bronze; Mayengbam Demson won one bronze; Akoijam Alex won one silver; Nongmaithem Ningthiba won one gold; Maibam Priyanka Devi won one silver; Alina Maisnam won three bronze; Carolina Chingkham won one gold and two sliver, it mentioned.
Under the Sanda Youth Boys category, Laishram Newton Singh won one gold; Thokchom Malemnganbi Meitei won once bronze; Longjam Boyton Singh won one silver; Soibam Manglem Singh won one bronze, it further stated.
It stated that under Sanda Youth girls category, Pangambam Thoicha Devi won one bronze; Moirangthem Rajluxmi Devi won one bronze; Ningthoujam Priyadarshini Chanu won one silver and Toijam Ptiyaluxmi Devi won one gold.
Under the Sanda Junior-boys category, Mayanglambam Dinesh Singh won one bronze, Naresh Nongmaithem won one gold; Yengkhom Arnold Singh won one gold, it mentioned.
Under the Sanda Junior girls category, Khwairakpam Chaoba Devi won one silver while Khwairakpam Lingjenthoibi Devi won one bronze, it stated.
State Wushu officials namely team manager, Taolu Konsam Hemchandra Singh; Taolu coach Mayanglambam Punshiva Meitei; team manager, Sanda Moirangthem Ronel Singh and Sanda coach Moirangthem Rameshchandra Singh accompanied the team, it added.
