Elite Cricket: PTRC Patsoi, ESU Wangkhei, Model Singjamei record wins

PTRC Patsoi Part IV improved their rating beating TRAU Kwakeithel by 51 runs in the 8th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2023-24 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.

PTRC Patsoi and TRAU Kwakiethel are currently placed in third and fourth place after Cyclone Thangmeiband and Champ CC Khagempalli, among the 12 teams.

Downed to 54/3 in the early hours, PTRC pushed up the run rate as middle order batsman RK Rex hammered 94 runs off 78 balls, to set the target of 231/6 from 40 overs. TRAU bowlers Priyojit and Swabiman picked up 2 wickets each.

Making a concerted effort, TRAU batsman Dr Siddharth Shah made 61 runs while skipper Priyojit Kangabam got 44 runs, but fell short of target by 51 runs as they could manage 180/10 from 35.2 overs. PTRC bowlers RK Rex and Tamarland Ph fetched 3 wickets each and the former was adjudged Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound came up with 19 runs win against Reys Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai to chugged along with 10 points each.

ESU built up 134/10 from 43.5 overs with Sanatomba making 34 runs. Reys bowlers Md Basir and Pinkey Singh took 3 wickets each.

In reply, Reys batsman managed 115/10 from 43 overs. Jaali Ahmed Chisti made 34 runs. ESU bowler H Donba captured 4 wickets while Chitaramjam Sharma got 2 wickets.

The match at Lairenjam Public Ground saw Model Singjamei Chingamakha pulling off a 4 wicket win over Al-Ameen, Lilong. Al-Ameen posted 130/10 from 36.3 overs while Model Singjamei reached the target in 35 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
