Classic Football Academy, Chingmeirong sails into the quarter final beating DM Rao, Sekmai by 4-0 goals in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Classic FA completed their fourth league matches, winning all games to garner 12 points while DM Rao, Sekmai won one match, lost three games for 3 points.
The Classic FA team made a slow start as they anticipated challenges from DM Roa and seemed like reserving their energy for the hardened battle in the second half. However they took the advantage in the 37 minute of play when H.Tomba struck the opening goal for the lead in the first half.
The second half witnessed more fierce challenges from the team resulting in referee Kh.Ranjit sending off DM Rao player Naresh Singh with a red card in 53 minute, leaving ten men for the Sekmai team. Seizing the opportunity, Classic FA made a series of runs, resulting in a second goal from Y.Rohit in 71 minute.
DM Rao, Sekmai also made a blunder of themselves when Y.Langamba conceded an own goal in 76 minute to dampen their spirit further in the match. But it was of no use crying over spilled milk as Classic FA drove home the last nail when Y.Rohit pumped home the fourth goal in 90 plus 2 minute for the victory, enroute to the quarter final.
Classic FA player SN Sachin and DM Rao player M.Karan got yellow cards from referee Kh.Ranjit for reckless foul.
In the other matches, AMOFA Moirang held on AIM Khabam by 1-1 goals to share a point each. N.Michel scored for AIM team while H.Johnson fetched the equaliser for AMOFA Moirang. Both teams lost a player each from red card booking including Kh.Jacky of AIM and Kh.Sunil of AMOFA team in 90 minute of the game.
F4C Saikul beat YPHU Lalambung by 2-1 goals to collect full points. Ngulgoulal scored both the goals for F4C team while M Manisana got the lone goal for YPHU team.
