Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong lifted the champion title of the 1st ANSAM Martyrs' Trophy Football Tournament 2022, organised by ANSAM in collaboration with NSUC and DSA Chandel and played at Mini Stadium Complex, Chandel on Sunday.

The final match saw Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong manage to overcome the slippery ground condition due to rain quite well as compared to Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun, who lost many chances to score at the goalmouth.

TKS came up with the opening goal from Thangvah Ragui in the 5th minute of play for the lead. Though Lamkang rallied hard for the equaliser, they lost their footing quite often, to aggravate their situation further. Just before the first half whistle, TKS consolidated in the 30th minute of play from Wungngayam to post a 2-0 goals lead.

With each passing minute, giving a horrific time to Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun as they failed to get their goals, the Tangkhul KS on the other hand, gained further height when Thomyo L brought up the winning goal in the 67th minute for the victory on Sunday.

Two TKS players Shomi Rongui, Peimingam Muinao and Lamkang KK player Angthot received yellow cards in the match.

Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong got richer by Rs 1,20,000 with the champion trophy while Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun had to be content with Rs 70,000 with the runners up title. The best fair play team award was given to Poumai NTM with Rs 10,000.

The top scorer title of the meet was claimed by Renghon of Lamkang KK while Tangvah Ragui of Tangkhul KS fetched the best player title and the best goalkeeper was awarded to Tara Gachuino of Tangkhul KS.
