Anandapurna School of Sciences, Thoubal dazzled fans with their attacking prowess to beat Wangoi Higher Secondary School, Imphal West by 3-0 goals to claim the Champion title of the U-17 Girls category at the ongoing 62nd State Level Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2023.
By virtue of the win, Anandapurna School of Science, Thoubal will represent Manipur in the Subroto Cup International 2023 in New Delhi later this year.
Throughout the game played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Anandapurna School was in the offensive mood, rallying for the goal and they fructify their dream in the 10th minute of play with N Henerita Devi making a power shot to the goal, much to the dismay of the Wangoi goalkeeper for the lead in the first half.
Wangoi Higher Secondary School, despite the hiccups, made inroads but Anandapurna defence line and goalkeeper kept perfect harmony, to deny the attempts.
With the onset of the second half, Anandapurna School of Science made more inroads and it was willy L Nira Chanu who outshined Wangoi defender, to shoot the second goal in the 38th minute and later came up with the winning goal as well in the 50th minute for the well-deserved victory.
YAS Secretary, Kheda Brata Singh and YAS Director, T Phulen Meitei distributed trophies to the winning team.
