AMFA suspends LYCC Chandel for one year, imposes Rs 50, 000 fine

In case, the LYCC failed to pay up the fines, an ex-parte decision will be taken up without further notice, the AMFA statement said.

The All Manipur Football Association suspended Liwa Cahgning Youth and Cultural Club (LYCC) Chandel for a period of one year along with an inposition of Rs 50, 000 as fine for fielding incomplete players during their match against Muvanlai Athletics during the 63rd CC Meet 2021-22.

The said match between Muvanlai Athletics, Kangpokpi and LYCC Chandel, saw the latter with a humilating 19-0 goals defeat, raising eyebrows of match fixing. As such the AMFA has sought an explanation from LYCC team which the latter duly obliged and later found out that the Chandel outfit had fielded an incomplete sets of player for the match.

The Executive Council meeting of AMFA after having gone through the explanation given by LYCC team and found it unsatisfactory has decided to suspend LYCC Chandel for a period of one year from football activities connected with AMFA with immediate effect and pay a fine of Rs 30,000 to the Association on or before May 31, 2022, said the AMFA statement signed by M.Nilo Singh, Assistant General Secretary.

In case, the LYCC failed to pay up the fines, an ex-parte decision will be taken up without further notice, the AMFA statement said.
