CDC Sagolband Salam Leikai posted 5 wickets victory over SSU Singjamei Kakwa to enter the semi final of the 6th MNCA Plate Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.

CDC team finished on top of Group A, winning all four matches collecting 8 points while UCC Uripok made it to the second spot with three wins from four matches for 6 points and made it to the semi final. SSU Singjamei Kakwa, Napsa Kha Imphal and Oscar Paona Bazar failed to qualify from the group.

As for Group B, IBSA Yumnam Leikai occupy the top slot with three wins from four matches, fetching 6 points and KIYC Khetrigao pull off two wins from four matches, collecting 4 points to stake a claim in the semi final. RRCC Churachandpur, YWC Patsoi and YAC Yaiskul failed to make it.

The match between SSU and CDC Sagolband saw the former making 136 runs for 10 wickets from 39.4 overs with Sujeet contributing 36 runs while Douglas got 34 runs. CDC bowlers Ksh Robert, Md Ataur Rahaman, M Jodiba claimed 2 wickets each among the wicket takers.

In reply, CDC team lost five wickets while chasing the target and was able to surpass the score in 34.1 overs with Md Ataur making an unbeaten 22 runs while Viking Salam got 8 runs. Other top run contributors for CDC are Priyojit N who got 46 runs, Salam Pinky with 24 runs and Ksh Robert with 20 runs for the victory. SSU bowler Saikhomba and Gugu got 2 wickets each.

CDC player Ksh Robert was declared the Man of the Match for his 20 runs and 2 wickets haul.

In the other match played at Langthabal Public Ground, YAC Yaiskul came up with their first win beating YWC Patsoi by 6 wickets, which was of academic importance only as both failed to make it to the semi finals.

The first semi final will be played between CDC Sagolband and KIYC Kshetrigao on Thursday and the second semi final will have IBSA Yumnam Leikai taking on UCC Uripok on Friday at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West.
