Sagolband United and Southern Sporting Union, Singjamei crucial match ended in a goalless draw to share a point each in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The last quarter final league round match of Group C, could be anybody's game as the win will see a team making their way to the semi final of the meet. However the final official result, as to which team got the nod to the semi final berth was not divulged by AMFA.
The third team from the group XI Star Sporting Union, Akhampat had already shown the exit door as they were beaten by Sagolband United by 2-0 goals while SSU beat them by 3-0 goals.
Though the match final result was not circulated to the mediapersons by the match officials due to some technical reason, it was learnt that the All Manipur Football Association will discuss the outcome of the match on Monday.
It is learnt that AMFA was in a fix as they have categorised the nine teams in three groups in the quarter final league round and to pick the top three teams for the semi final. The fourth team is supposed to be from the second top rung team among the three groups.
