Manipur judokas and pugilists filled the medal dearth by bagging nine medals, including two gold, in the 37th National Games 2023 held at Goa.
On the second day of the competition, L Jagadish (66 kg bout) and L Sanatombi Devi (48 kg) landed the gold medals.
Judokas L Monalish in 48 kg and H Sunibala Devi in 63 kg also bagged a silver medal each while N Sarda in 52 kg and I Kalpana Devi in 63 kg also took the bronze medals.
It can be mentioned that Manipur judokas are participating in the Individual Men's event, Individual Women's, Mixed Mens and Mixed Women's event.
In the Boxing event, Jackson Pukhrambam in 51 kg weight division, H Ashalata Chanu in 51 kg and Ojibala Thounaojam in 54 kg category have settled for the bronze medals in the Games.
The medal tally for Manipur is 29 Gold, 21 Silver and 28 Bronze medals.
