Poor judgement from Juvenile Club keeper cost them 1-0 goals loss to TRAU Kwakeithel in the pre-quarter finals of the ongoing 14th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament 2023-24 organised by 143 Bn along with AMFA and IWDFA at SAI Turf, Takyel.
The second rung TRAU team had difficulty in tackling the run of Juvenile Club, Tera as the latter got plenty of chances but they let themselves down with feeble kicks.
However in the 69th minute, TRAU made a counter attack with A Dingku rushing on the danger zone challenged by a Juvenile Club defender in a one-on-one situation. But Juvenile Club keeper rushed out beyond his custodial area, giving ample tile to Dingku to loft the ball to the net for the victory, enroute to the quarter finals.
Three Juvenile Club players Shital, Dev, Rlex and TRAU players Ch.Nepolian, MR Chinanmi got booked with yellow cards.
In another match, Sagolband United powered its way to the quarter finals beating FC Raengdai, Noney by 2-0 goals.
FC Raengdai gave Sagolband United a hard run for their money as the former fend their wall well, to render the first half goalless. However Sagolband United found the gap in the 56th minute of the match with K Arunkumar scoring the opening goal and later Y Gopi fetched the winning goal in the 90th+5 minute.
