12th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship 2022: Hockey Haryana to clash with Hockey Jharkhand

The final match between Hockey Haryana and Hockey Jharkhand will be played on Sunday at 6 pm at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.

Haryana skipper Saavi played the captain role to perfection guiding her team with 8-0 goals victory over Hockey Madhya Pradesh by 8-0 goals to sail into the final of the 12th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship 2022 played at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.

It was Hockey Haryana captain Saavi who displayed her skills in the third and fourth quarter slamming home five goals including one penalty corner conversion, to the delight of her team bench.

Hockey Madhya Pradesh, which had enjoyed a great run in the Championship, seemed to find the destroyer in Hockey Haryana as the latter started the onslaught right from first quarter. Haryana started off with Nidhi fetching the opening goal in the 10th minute from a field goal and she consolidated her team position in the very next minute to post 2-0 goals.

Hockey Madhya Pradesh which seemed to be having trouble finding gaps but managed to hold Haryana at bay in the second quarter. However, Hockey Haryana ran amok again as Riya broke the silence with a field goal in the 35th minute and captain Saavi pushed home the fourth goal in 39th minute to make 4-0 goals in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was completely dominated by Haryana as captain Saavi struck four goals in quick succession for the impressive victory.

In the second semi final, Hockey Jharkhand beat Uttar Pradesh Hockey by 2-1 goals, to book their berth in the final.

Both teams matched their wits in the match but Jharkhand managed to open the goal account in the second quarter from captain Balo Horo in the 30th minute from a penalty corner conversion. With a goal in their kitty, Jharkhand were more on the offensive and got the reward when Nisha Minj came up with the second goal in the 41st minute.

Uttar Pradesh Hockey made a late surge in the third quarter and it was Purnima Yadav who strucks her team's first goal in the 45th minute to trail by 1-2 goals. However, Jharkhand deployed a defensive strategy in the fourth quarter to help themselves for a place in the final.

The final match between Hockey Haryana and Hockey Jharkhand will be played on Sunday at 6 pm under flood light.
