The day has come for us,
To celebrate our teachers' day;
To jubilate and laud with reverberation,
Of chortling intonation and exhilaration;
To honour and say ' Thank you' to our dear teachers ,
For their unwavering and selfless service;
In you dear teachers, we see a ray of hope,
For the unforeseeable future we advance to;
In you dear teachers, we see a concealed gift of life,
Longing to be unearthed that is hidden within us;
For in your chalk you hold and the markers you penned,
Are transcribed the destiny of our life;
And from your euphonious voice of endless lectures,
Come forth words of wisdom and knowledge- of life;
Your names will not be obliterated like those of the unsung heroes,
For you have sung to us songs of all the secrets,
Of the hidden knowledge of the universe;
You've transformed schools and colleges into the hub of education,
And altered classrooms into a living temple of knowledge;
For you embodied the image of a warrior,
Equipped with wisdom and power,
Battling the war against illiteracy, ignorance,
And unethical educational systems in our society;
A 'thank you note' and a ' thank you speech',
Is all we could proffer for now, dear teachers;
For a day will transpire when we would be in a 'thank you mode',
And a 'thank you speech' will speak for itself,
For what we would be on that day we pressed on to.
