Short film ‘Use Me’ selected for international film festival

Rakesh Naorem’s short film ‘Use Me’ was the only Manipuri short film to be officially selected for the 5th Roshan International Film Festival 2024.

The Film Education and Welfare Foundation, Aurangabad, Maharashtra has announced that Rakesh Naorem’s short film ‘Use Me’ has been officially selected for 5th Roshan International Film Festival 2024 in the Best Short Film (Indian) Category.

The three minute short story was co-written by Huidrom Suresh and Rakesh Naorem, will be screened on August 5 at the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Research Centre in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Huidrom Marlin, Rakesh Naorem, Laishram Bijayalakshmi, Moirangthem Oken, and Priyanka were featured in this short film with cinematography by Nagindra and editing by Romi Lamabam.

The main message of this short film is to safeguard the environment and climate.

It may be mentioned that Rakesh Naorem had previously directed two short films, namely ‘Lingjel’ and ‘Lupa-20’ and produced over 30 music video albums including numerous documentary, feature film and short films.

Altogether, 1,400 films from across 70 countries were submitted to the festival. Among the 251 selected films, Rakesh Naorem’s short film was the only Manipuri short film to be officially selected for the festival.
