One held for pirating ‘Khurai Angaobi’

Mobile Film Distribution Centre said Manipuri video film producers are now facing heavy loss due to mass piracy.

A team of the Mobile Film Distribution Centre (MFDC) has caught one person on Sunday for allegedly pirating the film “Khurai Angaobi”.

Earlier, altogether 13 persons were held for the same. The person who was held for pirating the film has been identified as Md Abdur Rajaque, 22, son of Abdul Gaffar of Mayang Imphal Bengoon.

Rajaque tendered his apology to the team and promised that he will not commit such unlawful acts again in the future. He also appealed to all the customers who bought pirated CD copies from him to destroy them.

Proprietor of MFDC H Jayenta, told the media that Manipuri video film producers are now facing heavy loss due to mass piracy. If the trend continues, then producers might not be able to produce films anymore, he said.

He also appealed to the public not to support any illegal piracy and help in the development of Manipuri films. Buying pirated CDs is also illegal and a crime, he added.
