Entries opened for Mumbai International Film Fest

The 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2024 will to be held in Mumbai from June 15 to 21.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, has announced the call for entries for the upcoming 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2024 scheduled to be held in Mumbai from June 15 to 21.

Informing the same, the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), in a release on Thursday encouraged all eligible filmmakers of Manipur to apply and seize the opportunity to showcase the exceptional quality of filmmaking in the state. It is a golden opportunity for filmmakers to compete for awards totalling a cash prize of Rs 44 lakhs, it stated.

Established and organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in 1990, MIFF holds distinction as one of the oldest South Asia’s most revered competitive film festivals for Documentaries, Animation Films, and Short Fiction Films, it said.

The festival is a celebration of creativity, storytelling, the art of filmmaking and also rewards outstanding works in documentary, animation and short fiction film genres, it mentioned.

Filmmakers from across the world and India are invited to participate in the festival, it added.

It further said that early bird entry has closed on Thursday for all three categories, while late entry is still open till February 29 with a late fee. The application process is exclusively online and can be accessed at ‘www.filmfreeway.in and www.miff.in.’, it informed.
