Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput is no more

The actor allegedly committed suicide and was found hanging at his at his Bandra residence in Mumbai earlier this morning, according to reports.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on Sunday. He was 34.

The MS Dhoni: The Untold Story famed actor was found hanging at his residence earlier this morning and a domestic help alerted the police, according to reports.

Rajput made his debut in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che', based on Chetan Bhagat's 'The Three Mistakes of My Life’ and later starred in films such as 'PK', 'Kedarnath' and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

The actor's biggest hit till date is 'MS Dhoni-The Untold Story', in which he played former India cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

His last release was 'Chhichhore' in which he starred opposite Shraddha Kapoor.

Expressing shock at the actor's death, many, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took to Twitter and conveyed their condolences.

"Sushant Singh Rajput...a bright young actor gone too soon. He excelled on TV and in films. His rise in the world of entertainment inspired many and he leaves behind several memorable performances. Shocked by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and fans. Om Shanti," Modi tweeted..

Akshay Kumar tweeted: "Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless...I remember watching #SushantSinghRajput in Chhichhore and telling my friend Sajid, its producer how much I’d enjoyed the film and wish I’d been a part of it. Such a talented actor...may God give strength to his family."

"Shocked and sad to hear about the loss of Sushant Singh Rajput. Such a young and talented actor. My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul RIP," Sachin Tendulkar also tweeted.

"Shocked & saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. May God give strength to his family, fans & loved ones," CMO Maharashtra posted on Twitter.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing away of young Bollywood actor, a soul brimming with promise and possibilities #SushantSinghRajput. Our condolences to his family, loved ones and all those who admired his work. Gone too soon,” Youth Congress also tweeted.

It may be recalled that Sushant visited Manipur in the summer of 2017 to spent some time with the CRPF jawans in the state. Meanwhile, police investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the death.
