The Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday announced that the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be held from November 20 to 28 in Goa and applications are invited from young film fraternity across the country.
As many as 75 creative minds will be shortlisted by a committee comprising eminent film personalities to attend the festival, additional director general of the Ministry Chaitanya Prasad stated in a release. He stated that the selected applicants will also get an opportunity to participate in all the major activities of IFFI including the valuable master-classes and in-conversation sessions.
The objective of this programme is to encourage and recognise young creative minds and budding talent in the country, he added. The festival will be held in the context of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is being commemorated to observe the 75th years of Indian independence, it stated. The Mahotsav is an attempt to showcase the glorious history of India and its people, culture and achievements in the last 75 years, it added.
