3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament: PCC register thumping win; Shadow, SSC and YWC triumph

PCC Mayaikoibi registered a thumbing 140-run win over Sagolband United through DLS Method in the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2023-24.

PCC Mayaikoibi registered a thumbing 140-run win over Sagolband United through DLS Method in the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2023-24 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.

Batting first in a limited 30 over match, PCC mastered a huge total of 332 runs for 6 wickets. Opener Lucky Thokchom hammered 171 runs off 84 balls, while Pravin Kumar remained unbeaten with 53 runs off 41 balls. SU bowler N.Rajkumar claimed 2 wickets.

However Sagolband United seemed to have a reprieve from the tall score as weather conditions worsened resulting in poor visibility and were asked to make 192 runs from 14.4 overs. But Sagolband United failed miserably as they managed just 51 runs for 4 wickets from 14.4 overs.

PCC bowler Pravinkumar took 2 wickets, while Rojer and Nelson got 1 wicket each. Lucky grabbed the ‘Man of the Match’ title for his 171 runs.

In the other matches, Shadow Thangmeiband pulled off an 18-run win against TCMDC Thongju in the match played at THAU Ground. Sent into bat first, Shadow made 149 runs for 5 wickets from 25 overs. In reply, TCMDC reached 131 runs for 10 wickets from 24.1 overs.

Shadow player James Sahu was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ title for his 51 runs and 2 wickets.

SSC Porompat also recorded a 10-run win over Al-Ameen, Lilong in the match played at Kongba Dhobi Lampak. SSC put up 140 runs for 8 wickets from 30 overs, while in reply, Al-Ameen managed 130 runs for 10 wickets from 22.4 overs. SSC player Asif took the ‘Man of the Match’ title for 3 wickets and 18 runs.

In another match played at PTRC Ground, Patsoi, YWC Langthabal brought up 6 wickets victory against YPHUC Lalambung. YPHUC made 96 runs for 10 wickets from 21.4 overs, while YWC reached the target in 15.5 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. YWC bowler Kelvisnon claimed the ‘Man of the Match’ title for his 4 wickets.
