The Meghalaya government has decided to lift a few restrictions, including night curfew in the state as COVID-19 situation improved. It also decided to drop RT-PCR test for those who been admistered the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine before entering the state and permission for funerals.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma made the announcement in a series of tweets, after holding a COVID review meeting in Shillong on Wednesday.
The chief minister also said that all schools in the state will fully function from February 14, except those in Shillong which will reopen only for Class 1-5.
“In the Covid review meeting, we have decided to lift a few restrictions wef Feb 11:
• Double vaccinated individuals will not require RT-PCR tests before entering the State
• All Schools will fully function from Feb 14 except those in Shillong which will reopen only for Cl 1-5,” the chief minister tweeted.
In another tweet, the chief minister said night curfew will be lifted and no prior permissions will be required for funerals.
"Night Curfew will be lifted • Double vaccinated people will only be permitted in bars, restaurants, movie theatres • Odd even rule for private vehicles will continue • No prior permissions will be required for funerals," Sangma tweeted.
