The Zomi Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO) has warned the general public against creating hindrances that could impede the speedy construction of National Highway 102B.
Reportedly, the construction of NH 102B has witnessed constant bandhs and blockades due to compensation issues thus delaying works.
The ZRO stated in a release that no organisation or association shall clamp bandh against the construction companies without its approval, as ZRO always stands for the best quality road and is closely monitoring it.
The ZRO said halting of works and imposing of bandh against construction companies only immobilized the smooth and speedy construction of the road. Calling of bandh against companies is not a solution but rather creates problems causing undue hardship to the general public, it stated.
It pointed out that the general public and commuters are the first casualties and worst victims wherever such bandh is imposed.
The ZRO also appealed to the concerned authorities to release pending compensation to all 'genuine ' and 'rightful' beneficiaries without further delay.
The ZRO said that it will also exert pressure for prompt payment of compensation to all' deserving ' victims of road expansion asking the general public to cooperate for better quality and completion of the road.
