ZCOs irked over digging up of trench in road

The said road, which was black topped recently under the PMGSY programme, is the only PMGSY road that provides a links to Chakha village which is the last border village of Senapati district bordering with Tamei Sub-Division, Tamenglong district, stated a release issued by the media and publicity cell of ZCOs.

The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) on Saturday stated that the senseless act of digging up a deep trench to facilitate as irrigation canal in the middle of the road between Rajaimai and Kangjang village by some individuals supposedly to allow water to flow into the wet paddy fields is quite disturbing.

The said road, which was black topped recently under the PMGSY programme, is the only PMGSY road that provides a links to Chakha village which is the last border village of Senapati district bordering with Tamei Sub-Division, Tamenglong district, stated a release issued by the media and publicity cell of ZCOs.

Even the kilometre indicator post erected on the road side was uprooted and used to make a cross path for the vehicles to pass through over the deep dug up trench, it stated.

It stated that instead of resorting to such wild and senseless acts which has caused great inconveniences to commuters. Those individuals who dug up the deep trench should have second thoughts and approach the authority concerned to arrange for better, feasible alternative ways for the irrigation canal, it stated.  

The senseless act of those individuals simply showed total disrespect to other citizen’s rights to live as dignified citizens and their actions are condemnable, it added.

Executing developmental works in the hills areas cannot happen frequently; therefore, causing damages and destruction to developmental works is anti-development and anti-people, it added.

The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Students Union strongly urge the state govt to look into the matter and take up immediate stern action against those individuals who did the senseless act as per law so as to avoid committing such senseless act in future, it added.
