World Zoonoses Day 2022 observed in Imphal

The World Zoonoses Day 2022 programme in Imphal highlighted the importance of zoonosis and its public health significance among school children.

Regional coordinator of National One Health Programme for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses, department of Microbiology, RIMS, Imphal under the aegis of NCDC, New Delhi observed the World Zoonoses Day at Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School in Imphal on Wednesday. 

The programme was attended by zonal education officer Sucheta Khumukcham along with Zonal Zone 1 staff and principal and teachers of Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School.

Zoonotic diseases are infectious diseases that are naturally transmitted between vertebrate animals and humans.

The programme highlighted the importance of zoonosis and its public health significance among school children.

The objective of the programme was to sensitise the teachers about disease.
