World Poetry Day 2023 was celebrated in Manipur with the stress on promoting Manipuri language in writing poems
The event, organised by the Royal Academy Wangjing in collaboration with Khorirol Sandoklup Wangjing, was held at the auditorium of the academy on Thursday.
In his keynote address, renowned critic and poet S Nabadweep summarised the objectives of the observation of World Poetry Day 2023.
The speakers of the event stressed on the importance of using and promoting the Manipuri language while writing poems and stories. As a part of the event, a poetry reading session for the school students was also held.
The event was attended by Khorirol Sandoklup Wangjing president Tongbram Babulan as the chief guest, Royal Academy Wangjing principal L Surendrakumar as the president and poet Laishram Jugeshor as the guest of honour along with students and many literary enthusiasts.
