In connection with the observance of the ‘World Mental Health Day’, the management committee of the Makaam Hospital and Research Institute, Longmai Bazar Noney district on Thursday organised the Mental Health Awareness programme at their Hospital Conference Hall on Thursday.
District leprosy officer, Noney Dr Azin Maringmei, counseling psychologist career counselor Dr Dinsibou Pamei, and Makaam Hospital, RMO Dr Guinungliu Gonmei
attended as the resource persons of the programme.
The resource persons spoke about the modern mental health problems and briefed about the different ways of treatment and preventive measures.
They highlighted that most of the youths are affected by psychological problems due to the consumption and use of alcohol and drugs, stressing on the need for the leaders to organise regular counseling programmes and the need to open rehabilitation centres in every town.
MHRI manager Jangsin Kamei attended the event as the presenter.
The programme began with the opening prayer by sister in-charge Sunita Kamei, followed by a welcome address by MHRI chief supervisor Pouhoi Gonmei.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by assistant manager MHRI Lungthuipou Kamei, MHRI staff, caretakers of patients and the people of Longmai Bazar Area attended the awareness programme.
