The Khwairamband Ima Keithel Coordinating Committee for Peace on Saturday announced that the five-day cease work strike has been lifted following a slew of assurances by Chief Minister N Biren Singh during an interaction with the committee on Saturday

The committee further added that the market would be open for commercial activities from Monday.

Speaking to the media at Khwairamband Keithel, coordinator of the committee Kongbrailatpam Dhaneshori asserted that the committee resolved to lift the strike after members of the committee met with CM Biren in connection with the ongoing issue.

“The committee raised various concerns regarding the crisis such as abrogation of SoO with Kuki militants, stopping the shootouts at various periphery locations, resettling of displaced villagers, keeping territorial integrity of Manipur intact among others,” she said.
