Imphal East additional DC Shamim Ahmed Shah on Sunday exhorted the women organisations of the state to plan a work programme for every year to implement their objectives in an organised manner.
He was speaking at the celebration of the ‘Pourabi Meira Paibi Singgi Numit‘ organised by Pourabi Lamjing Nupi Marup at the community hall of Pourabi in Imphal East.
Pourabi Lamjing Nupi Marup organised the day after its successful registration.
Shamim Ahmed Shah stressed the role of Manipur women in the sector of economy, women rights and its fight against uses and selling of abusive substances. He lauded the role taken by Manipur women and exhorted them to execute their work as per a yearly plan.
During the programme, the elderly women folks of Pourabi were honoured with shawls by principal of Gem Public School W Janmenjoy. A total of four water tanks gifted by the ‘Chingarel Army’ were distributed to the four ‘Panas' of the village.
The programme was presided by president of Pourabi Lamjing Nupi Marup Nongthombam Renu, while president of Pourabi Development Committee K Kalachand; president of Pourabi Rising Star Club L Maipak; president of Pourabi Yaipha Naharol Kanglup K Ronen attended as guests of honour.
