A 60-year-old woman died in a road mishap at North AOC in Imphal West around 7.15 pm on Thursday.
According to sources, the victim was identified as one Hangaiching Mate, 60, wife of one Ginkhanchan from Khojang village in Churachandpur district.
The victim was crossing the road median when she was hit by a two-wheeler (motorcycle MN01AJ-8110), the sources said, adding that she was rushed to Rajmedicity where she was declared dead soon after.
The body was received by the bereaved family after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS mortuary and the Imphal police had filed a case regarding the issue, the sources added.
After colliding with Hangaiching, the motorcycle ramped into an auto rickshaw, the sources said, adding that the driver of the motorcycle is undergoing treatment for his injuries.
