A woman succumbed to bullet injury at Raj Medicity after being shot at accidentally by her brother-in-law while cleaning a double-barrelled licensed gun on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as one Rehana, daughter of late Khutheibam Tomba from Purum Pangaltabi, Imphal East under the jurisdiction of Sagolmang police station in Imphal East.
Police reported that the incident took place around 4 pm. Rehena’s brother-in-law was cleaning a licensed gun and he accidentally fired a round which hit Rehena.
The injured was rushed to Raj Medicity for treatment; however, she succumbed to bullet injury at the hospital. A case has been registered at a police station concerned for further investigation. The body has been deposited at JNIMS morgue.
