Pension payment issues faced by government employees and retirees will be looked into at the earliest, a state government official said on Thursday.
The All Manipur Trade Union Council, Joint Administrative Council (AMTUC-JAC) and All Manipur Government Employees’ Organisation (AMGEO) on Thursday met with the senior deputy accountant general (A&E), Manipur in Imphal and raised issues pertaining to the payment of pension benefits to retired government employees.
The meeting also discussed the issue of missing credits for the fund contributed in employees GPF accounts, AMTUC said in a release.
A team of the AMTUC-JAC and AMGEO, including its president Th John Singh, general secretary Th Momocha Singh, secretary admin N Dyananda, secretary organisation L Ranjoy Singh and secretary finance N Ingocha Singh notified the senior deputy accountant general on the problem of missing credits for the funds that were deducted from crediting it into the employees’ general provident fund accounts, it added.
The members mentioned the difficulties faced by retired state government employees in the time taken during the process of pension papers, it stated. They highlighted the frequent returning of pension papers in spite of the undertakings being furnished by the retired employees at the time of submission of their pension papers for deduction of excess amount drawn because of faulty fixation, it stated.
Acknowledging the queries, the senior deputy accountant general assured that the issues will be looked into at the earliest for the convenience of the government employees and the retirees, it mentioned.
A memorandum regarding the queries was submitted to the chief minister of Manipur, chief secretary, Manipur and the state principal accountant general, it mentioned.
