Waste segregation bins distributed in Moreh

Encouraging the public to keep Moreh town clean and hygienic, Manipur Tribal Affairs Minister Letpao Haokip appealed to all to stop disposal of garbage at open spaces.

Manipur Tribal Affairs Minister Letpao Haokip on Thursday distributed garbage bins for waste segregation at Moreh to maintain better sanitation and hygiene as well as to stop disposal of garbage at open spaces in the border town.

Encouraging the public to keep Moreh town clean and hygienic, he appealed to the shopkeepers, hoteliers and other businessmen not to throw garbage on roads, lanes and corners, and handover the same only to designated vehicles which have been kept exclusively for the purpose.

He further appealed to the general public to come forward and join hands to make Moreh a garbage-free town

The waste bin distribution programme was organised by Khujailok and Lailok Environment Protection Committee (KLEPCO) Moreh at Meetei Council Moreh office.

Additional SP (Ops) Y Premjit and leaders of HTC, Tamil Sangam, MCM and other community leaders were also present at the programme.

Later, minister Letpao Haokip along with the community leaders visited the Community Variety Market and inspected the present condition of the market. He assured the public of the construction of a well equipped market at the earliest.
