The Wushu Association of Manipur (WAM) on Thursday clarified that the association is not organising any reception function in regard to the publication in some local dailies about WAM organising the reception of players who participated in the recently concluded 22nd Sub Junior National Wushu Championships.
WAM is awaiting approval of the Registrar of Societies and the matter is pending in the High Court of Manipur, a release issued by secretary elect and founder member of WAM Nongthombam Joyshankar stated.
It requested all the concerns not to use the name of Wushu Association of Manipur until approved by the office of the Registrar.
Stating that the association came across another news article which said that Youth Affairs and Sports is organising the reception function of the said players, it appreciated the initiatives of the governmental department for such a gesture.
