WAD begins ‘16-day activism’

WAD began its 16 days of activism on November 25 by visiting relief camps in Imphal.

The Women Action for Development (WAD) has started its 16-day activism against gender based violence from November 25, which is International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women till December 10, International Human Rights Day.

As observed every year, WAD began its 16 days of activism on November 25 by visiting relief camps in Imphal.

On November 25 i.e. the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women, marks the beginning of the annual activist-led campaign. The campaign will last till December 10 which is observed every year as International Human Rights Day, serving as a befitting reminder that women’s rights are human rights.

WAD has also invited applications for gender journalist award 2023-24 on the theme ‘Ongoing Manipur violence and its impact on women and children’.
