The Opposition alliance INDIA Bloc on Sunday alleged the BJP government of demolishing Indian democratic principles for their political interests, calling upon the people to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and make it an opportunity to cease BJP rule.
Speaking to the media at Irawat Bhawan, Imphal, CLP leader O Ibobi stated that the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha election would be the start of BJP’s downfall.
He maintained that Akoijam Bimol was not merely a candidate in the elections but a beacon of hope for the people of Manipur. He represents the people’s aspirations and desires, he added.
He highlighted that democratic ideals and principles were severely threatened ever since BJP’s ascension to power.
“We need to put a stop to such dictatorial political pursuits. Manipur is also a victim of their vested policies and whims,” he said.
He called upon the people to rise collectively and put an end to the suffering in Manipur. The upcoming elections will be a game changer in deciding the fate of people in Manipur, he added.
He further appealed to all to bestow their trust in Bimol Akoijam in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, former secretary of CPI Manipur State Council L Sotinkumar alleged the BJP of meting out dictatorial and divisive politics in the country.
“We must root out BJP from power if we are to stop this nightmare,” he added.
He stated that the 10 political parties of INDIA Bloc had unanimously agreed to conjure support for one candidate with the objective to end the BJP menace.
“The Lok Sabha elections will be the first step to loosen the BJP’s political might,” he said.
MPCC president K Meghachandra clarified that Irengbam Hemochandra’s resignation from the party was purely personal and had nothing to do with the upcoming elections
