Model Chingamakha and Cyclone Thangmeiband cruised into the semi-finals of the 1st Khomdram(O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament 2024 played at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West.
The first quarter final saw Model Chingamkha pulling off 5 wicket hauls over YPHU Lalambung, enroute to the last four stages.
YPHU found themselves trapped after being sent in to bat first as they could muster up 103/8 from 20 overs. Laingam scored 21 runs while Surjit made 20 runs. Model bowler Saratchandra claimed 3 wickets while Bobin got 2 wickets.
Model batsman had an easy chase as Santosh led the way with 33 runs while Chinglensana got 21 runs, to reach the target in 16 overs for 5 wickets. Boiton claimed 2 wickets for YPHU team. Model bowler Saratchandra took the ‘Man of the Match’ title for his 3-wicket haul.
Cyclone Thangmeiband also fired up with 5 wickets victory over Shadow Thangmeiband. Shadow batsman made a reasonable score of 144/6 from 20 overs with Jayenta top scoring with 58 runs. In reply, Cyclone Thangmeiband made it in 18.3 overs for 5 wickets. Lamnganba remained unbeaten with 40 runs while teammates Dhanendrajit claimed 5 wickets to claim the ‘Man of the Match’ title.
