VDF Welfare Association, Thoubal district on Friday urged the state government to issue their annual service extension order by introducing it in the state cabinet.
Due to not issuing the order for service extension which ended in March 31, the VDF personnel are not getting their service honorarium since March, publicity secretary of the association K Bikram Singh stated in a release.
He recalled the promises made by Chief Minister N Biren Singh during his previous term in various public meetings, specifically during the celebration of the 12th VDF Raising Day, during which he announced that the state government will take up certain initiatives for the welfare of the VDF personnel.
However, the government has so far not responded to the demands of the VDF personnel such as increasing pay, service protection, making of service seniority, service book, rank and file, installation of a separate VDF battalion, pension system among others, he stated.
The VDF personnel strongly believe that the chief minister will surely convert their demands into action in his present term, he further stated.
He further prayed to let Manipur develop with everlasting peace and harmony, he added.
