The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division Mantripukhri, Manipur on Thursday stated that it is initiating a programme for public free distribution of seedlings in connection with the 75th Van Mahotsav, 2024.
This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation, increase green cover, and engage the public in tree planting activities, stated an office memorandum.
The distribution programme will commence on the coming Monday and Tuesday from 11 am to 4 pm, it stated. Seedlings will be distributed free of cost (on the basis of ‘one seedling, one individual’) at the outlet opened in front of Mantripukhri Forest Office Complex, it mentioned. Detailed planting guidelines and maintenance tips will be provided with each seedling, it mentioned.
It further said that the Forest department encourages all the general public to participate actively in this noble cause and contribute to the green and sustainable future of the state.
