The Village Authority Chairmen Council (VACC) on behalf of Tousem people on Tuesday expressed their gratitude to Manipur Water Resource Minister Awangbow Newmai for his services in his Tamei- 52 and Tousem (ST) Assembly constituency.
Meanwhile, one Dikham Gonmei, a social worker told the Imphal Free Press that their long-cherished dream is to have a good road from Kaiphundai to Tousem sub-divisional headquarter which has been serving as the lifeline for 64 villages, encompassing six communities including Zeme, Rongmei, Liangmai, Kukis, Hmar and Khasis.
“These peace-loving people rely on it for their daily needs and connectivity. The approval of this road, achieved through the efforts and connection with his constituents by Awangbow Newmai fills us with immense joy and happiness. We are grateful for his uncovering commitment to the people for the betterment of our communities,” he said.
The dreams of various leaders have finally been realised, he said. Village Authority Chairmen Council, Tousem also thanked the authorities for approving the funds under the CRIF fund to construct the road connecting from Kaiphundai to Tousem Sub- Divisional headquarters.
