US Consulate General Kolkata hosts US National Day

US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti emphasized the many small steps and giant leaps the United States and India have taken together and all the other milestones marked along the journey, and said that the two nations have build a future-focused relationship that extends from the seabed to the stars and beyond.

The US Consulate General Kolkata hosted the US National Day event, celebrating the 248th year of American Independence, the 230th year of the US presence in Kolkata and US-India collaboration in space in Kolkata on Friday.

Chief secretary to the Government of West Bengal, BP Gopalika, graced the event as chief guest, stated a release.

Speaking on the occasion, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti emphasized the many small steps and giant leaps the United States and India have taken together and all the other milestones marked along the journey, and said that the two nations have build a future-focused relationship that extends from the seabed to the stars and beyond, it stated.

While, Consul General Melinda Pavek, said, 'From the seas of 1794 to the stars of 2024, we salute the small steps and giant leaps that have turned this US India moment into global momentum for the betterment of democracy', the release mentioned.
