The Union Public Service Commission has decided to offer alternative centres for candidates of Imphal (Manipur) centre for the Indian Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2023 to be held on May 28, in view of the prevailing crisis situation in the state.
The alternative examination centres offered are Aizawl (Mizoram), Kohima (Nagaland), Dispur (Assam), Shillong (Meghalaya), Jorhat (Assam), Kolkata (West Bengal) and Delhi, the UPSC said in a release issued on Tuesday.
The Centre change option will be available to the candidates of Imphal centre through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) facility, the release stated, adding that a message regarding it will be sent to each candidate on his or her mobile number registered with the commission. The candidates must use the registered mobile number to avail the facility through IVRS.
Alternatively, a candidate may reach office of any district administration in the state to contact the UPSC on the telephone numbers – 23070641, 23381073, 23384508 and 23387876 from May 17, 12 noon to May 19, 5 pm, except 10 pm to 8 am on each day, the release stated.
The release also mentioned that the option for change of centres will be available on the UPSC website from 12 noon of May 17 to 5 pm of May 19. Fresh e-admits cards will be available for downloading from the UPSC website, it added.
The e-admit cards will be made available at the state Headquarters as well as the district Headquarters for collection by the candidates. Additionally, the e-admit cards will also be delivered at the residences of the candidates of the candidates through post offices.
