Union Budget 2023-24 will bring a huge change in the country and will benefit all sections of the people of the country, including the poorer section, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on Saturday.
Biren was speaking during a one-day “Seminar on Union Budget 2023-2024” held at JN Dance Academy, Khoyathong, Imphal.
"Unlike the previous annual budgets which had plans for only five years, the new budget has a uniqueness as it has a vision of the next 100 years," the chief mnister said.
The new budget will not only bring welfare to the people of the country but will also uplift the lives of villagers, schedule tribe, schedule caste and those who are economically backward; it will aim for financial growth starting from micro level, he added.
The chief minister said that the new budget is aimed at empowering the youths and added that unlike other governments, the Modi government gives priority to bring development starting from the border area. Hence, the Central government is focusing on the development of north eastern states including Manipur, he added.
State BJP president A Sharda Devi said the Union Budget 2023-24 will bring inclusive development across the country especially to the north eastern states.
Sharda appealed to experts to express their opinions regarding the new budget and how the state can benefit from it.
Economic professor Elengbam Bijoykumar Singh said the new Union budget targets development for the next 100 years unlike the previous Union budget which shows that the present government is much confident on bringing development by solving the problem starting from the grassroot level.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Bharati Pravin Pawar also attended the seminar as resource person.
