In a gesture aimed at promoting and motivating the Manipur Senior Hockey Team ahead of the 14th Hockey India Senior Men’s Championship 2024, UNACCO School provided financial assistance to the team on Monday.
During a ceremony at UNACCO School, Khongman, UNACCO chairman N Irabanta handed over a sum of Rs 1 lakh to the Manipur Senior Hockey team.
Speaking to the media, Irabanta highlighted that the financial aid reflects UNACCO Group’s dedication to empowering local talent and fostering excellence in sports. He noted that the Manipur team, known for their skill and passion, will represent the state on the national stage, competing against some of India’s best hockey teams.
“This contribution aims to ease the team’s financial burdens, allowing the players to focus solely on their performance and bring pride to Manipur,” Irabanta said.
He also extended his best wishes to the team and urged the people of Manipur to unite in support of their players. The UNACCO Group reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing sports, developing talent, and advancing community welfare.
The 14th Hockey India Senior Men’s Championship is scheduled to be held from November 4 to 15 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
