Ukhrul district administration orders for release of licensed guns

Licensed guns or arms deposited at the police stations be released to the rightful license holders or owners without further delay, stated the order issued by Chunglenmang, Additional district magistrate, Ukhrul.

The Additional District Magistrate of Ukhrul district issued an order on Tuesday directing the release of all licensed guns and arms deposited in the nearest police stations of the district to the rightful license holders without further delay.

It may be mentioned that in connection with the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections 2022, an order for depositing of licensed guns and arms to the nearest police stations was issued on 28 October, 2021 with the aim to maintain law and order in the district during the election.

Now that the said election process is over and conducted successfully, and after careful examination, it feels no longer necessary to withhold licensed guns and arms at the police stations, it stated.

It is ordered that licensed guns or arms deposited at the police stations be released to the rightful license holders or owners without further delay, the order issued by Chunglenmang, Additional district magistrate, Ukhrul said.
