Two policemen suspended for misconduct in Churachandpur

The two police personnel had demanded Rs 200 from a truck driver at the Transit Centre where the returnees of the district are checked regularly as per SOP of COVID-19, sources said.

Two police personnel of Churachandpur district police were suspended for their misconduct in duty which contravened the ethics of the police department.

An order issued by Superintendent of Police, Amrita Sinha on August 26 stated that a departmental enquiry is being contemplated against the two police personnel, Kh Romen Singh and Thanglemlal Khaute of Churachandpur district police who are posted at the Mini Secretariat.

According to sources, the two police personnel had demanded Rs 200 from a truck driver at the Transit Centre where the returnees of the district are checked regularly as per SOP of COVID-19.

As the Transit Centre is adjacent to the Mini Secretariat, the police personnel took the advantage in manipulating their duty. After confirming the act of their professional misconduct, the SP immediately took action and suspended the two police personnel.
