Two-day training programme on mushroom cultivation and spawn production concludes

The free training programme held at Manipur Mahila Kalayan Samiti (MMKS) in Kabo Leikai taught how to cultivate mushrooms in a scientific way and how to make vermicompost from the remains of mushroom cultivation.

Rama Foundation (RAMAF) in Nagamapal RIMS Road concluded their two-day mushroom cultivation and spawn production training programme and free health checkup on Monday.

The free training programme held at Manipur Mahila Kalayan Samiti (MMKS) in Kabo Leikai taught how to cultivate mushrooms in a scientific way and how to make vermicompost from the remains of mushroom cultivation.

Secretary MMKS M. Pramo devi, president cum managing director RAMAF RK Soram and superintendent, MMKS RK Madan attended the programme as presidium members.

S Rajendra Kumar, regional awardees M Sarat, Chanbi Heikham, Widouliu and Margaret spoke as resource persons during the programme. They educated the trainees on how to cultivate mushrooms using scientific methods, health benefits from mushrooms, how to differentiate edible mushrooms and poisonous mushrooms.

Fifty people, including 18 children of MMKS Children Home, disabled persons, ST/SC and Relief campers attended the programme. RAMAF health and discount cards were also distributed during the programme.
