At least six more bodies were recovered from the Tupul landslide site, taking the total number of bodies recovered so far to 40 on Sunday, according to the latest update from ground report at 5.30 pm.
Braving the inclement weather condition, the joint rescue operation continued the search for missing persons at the site of the massive landslide that hit Marangching, Tupul in Noney district, Manipur, for the fourth day on Sunday.
Of the six bodies recovered till Sunday evening, four were personnel of the 107 Territorial Army, one a labourer of VSC and the identity of another could not be ascertained till the filing of the report.
The total number of missing remained 22, while as many as 18 people have been rescued so far from the landslide debris at the incident site.
