On the sidelines of the event, LIMIT president Malem Thongam (a transwoman) pointed out that apart from many youths being affected by drugs, many druglords have started using addicted youths to traffic drugs and further victimising them.

It is observed in the present situation that the lives of many youths are at stake, she said. She further stressed the immediate need of intervening into the matter by all concerned and work to save the youth from the threat.

She said the programme aims to raise a collective voice to unite all the youths in the fight against drugs in the state and ensure that government support is provided in any anti-drugs related activities.

Helping the addicted youths to return back to the mainstream is also an objective of the campaign, she further said, adding that the transgender community will continue the fund drive by selling salad so that such programmes may be further organised in different parts of the state.

Malem further announced the stand of the transgender under LIMIT to support the ‘Imas’ (mother) of Manipur in the stir against the government's move to lift the prohibition on liquor ban.

The programme also witnessed the president of All Manipur Kanba Ima Lup Lourembam Nganbi; Imphal East SP Shivakanta, president of United Committee Manipur Joychandra Konthoujam; president of Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup, Imphal East Yumlembam Memma Leima, advisor of Nupi Samaj Khundrakpam Indu; and general secretary of Coalition Against Drug and Alcohol Geetchandra Mangang as dias members.
