Normal life was affected in Moreh town on Thursday as Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Moreh block enforce 24-hour total shutdown called by the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) in protest against the delay in holding elections to the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs).

Streets and Markets in India-Myanmar border town wore a deserted look as all vehicles, including private and taxis, remained off the roads. All shops, business establishments, financial sectors and educational institutions also remained closed on Thursday.

Volunteers of KSO, Zillai, ICC and other Kuki CSOs were seen enforcing the shutdown since 6pm of August 3 in India's last border town in Tengnoupal district Manipur.

During the course of the bandh, Moreh police under the vision of OC Moreh P/S and CDO Moreh team kept strict vigil to control any unwanted incidents. No untoward incident occurred till the filling of this report.
