Three persons allegedly involved in pelting stones towards Imphal East district police while a police team was performing duties have been apprehended from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport on Sunday.
The three persons have been identified as one Abas, 22, son of Md Munish Khan from Kshetrigao Makha Leikai; Md Rahaman, 34, son of Md Rahmad from Kshetrigao Makha Leikai and Tajiur Rahman, 22, son of Tahibur Rahman from Keikhu Awang Leikai.
The three were allegedly involved in rioting by pelting stones towards the police team led by additional superintendent of police (OPS), Imphal East as they were entering into the Kshetrigao area for detection of illegal drugs.

On receiving information that the trio is traveling to Kolkata by Air Asia flight, a team of Airport police station along with CISF personnel conducted a search inside the airport.
During the police action Abas; Rahaman and Tajiur were detained. On verification with the investigating officer of the case, it was confirmed that they were involved during the incident.
They were offloaded and handed over to the investigating officer for further taking necessary action on the same day.
Some persons had earlier attacked police personnel during a drug raid on Saturday at Kshetrigao Yumkhaibam Leikai, Imphal East, as per police.
In a follow up action, as many as five persons suspected to be involved in attacking the police were arrested on the following day.
