Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing on Monday observed its 4th Foundation day at Khorirol Sanglen Wangjing, during which three books were launched as part of the occasion.
The first book released was ‘Ningol Khut ki Khomjinba Wari Macha’ edited by Heikham Chaoba, which is a collection of 24 short stories written by 24 writers of Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing. The second book released was ‘Nungsibi Eigi Khungang’ written by Khundongbam Ongbi Thokchom Gunamani Leima, about her birthplace Heirok. The third book released was a collection of poems written by 23 poets of Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing.
On the occasion, Ningol Khut Manipur Wangjing secretary Heikham Chaoba said that the Ningol Khut Manipur is an all women literary organisation of Manipur. The organisation was formed by like-minded women writers for the women literature enthusiasts of the state, she added. Mentioning the importance of the organisation, she urged the people to support the organisation in encouraging women literature enthusiasts in the state.
As part of the occasion, the members of Ningol Khut Manipur, Wangjing presented Thang-Ta show and cultural dances. The event concluded with a poem recitation which was hosted by Yengkhom Indira.
The event was attended by Sahitya Academy New Delhi Manipuri language Advisory Board convenor Nongmaithem Kirankumar as the chief guest, Ningol Khut Manipur advisor Yengkhom Indira as the president, and Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal district president Moirangthem Rajendra, Khorirol Sandoklup Wangjing president Tongbram Babulal, social worker Thokchom Premjit and publisher of ‘Ningol Mapao’ Rakesh Naorem as the guests of honour along with other literature enthusiasts.
