In an effort towards making Manipur a self-reliant state particularly in food products, the All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO), in collaboration with the All Manipur United Fish Farmers Association (AMUFFA), released thousands of Pengba fingerlings in various community ponds in the state.
Speaking to the media, AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang highlighted the activities taken up by his organisation since the last decades for a self-sustainable Manipur by collaborating with various organisations and farmers.
Informing that as many as 70,000-80,000 were already released in September last year by AMUCO and AMUFFA, he called upon all the people of the state to give their participation in making the state self-sustainable.
Apprising fish farmers of the state to start adopting the modern technology of farming, president of AMUFFA M Bimolchand said interested farmers can consult the office of AMUCO or AMUFFA for getting the training.
